Website design & development
Fast, accessible marketing sites that your team can update without calling me.
How I approach it
Most small-organisation websites are slow because they are running a database and a plugin stack to serve pages that never change. Building them static removes the entire category of problem: nothing to patch, nothing to get hacked, and a page that arrives before the visitor has finished deciding to look at it.
The part that decides whether a site stays current is not the build — it is whether staff can publish without asking a developer. On the Canadian Blind Hockey site, content is written in the admin dashboard staff already sign into for registrations, so a story reaches the public site without anyone touching git or paying for a CMS seat.
A second language has to be designed in. Bolting translation onto a site built in one language produces a second-class version of it, which for a bilingual national organisation is worse than not offering it.
What this covers
- Marketing sites, landing pages, and campaign pages
- Bilingual and multi-language builds where the second language is not an afterthought
- Migrations off WordPress and shared hosting, including the DNS move
- Content workflows that fit how the organisation already works, not a CMS licence
What you get
- A static site that loads fast and has nothing to patch
- A publishing workflow your staff can use without a developer
- The DNS and hosting migration handled, not left as your problem
- Accessible markup and real alt text, not a compliance badge
